For Me 💜
Dedicated to everyone who finds meaning in creating.
Hint: This poem is both literal and a metaphor.
I’ve listened to Every song I’ve read the stories Small and strong I’ve watched the films I’ve heard the hymns I’ve deconstructed Plots, twists, spins But none were quite The bulb burned bright Beyond my sight Where the light’s Just right I searched for a friend To understand me Back then That’s why I gave you My plans You left the building Barely standing Turns out, My vision was self driven Not a mutual decision Or so you say But I find a way To change history, Revisions And though my search Does not unearth The art that starts To assess My worth I still insist On this self-obsessed Gift One that centers my grief So it can provide some relief And I can read Watch TV Consume stories Humans, dreams But when I want to see art That validates my own heart I’ve stopped looking for someone And I make it For me

🤗 - and I didn’t even notice the kids! I’ve gotten so used to it all 🤗
Took me 4 times through that one. But you’re 100% right. The image is in your head and no one else’s. Project the image that is uniquely you. 😍 BTW kids in the background were a nice touch.😂😂 At least they can’t see the image.. it’s your one secret you can keep to yourself and never have to share.
